Still Standing

-18˚F. Not even discussing wind chill – does it really matter?  Cold, but still standing.

About Bo Mackison

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. Please subscribe to receive my five part mini email course The Gifts of the Desert. It's my gift to you.

  1. Very graceful…almost like an aging ballerina. Beautiful!!! We’re having the same weather here. Keep warm!!!

  2. What a Beauty!

    And man, that’s cold!

  3. Verily a rage against the elements, a protest against the passage of time, a rail against the transitory being of life. All in all a very nice composition.

I also concur in Marcie’s comments.

18 below is bad. The beer will freeze.

-18 degrees? And you’re out taking photos? I’m impressed!

  5. -18°…too cold to even shiver!

  6. Lovely, lovely dead tree… almost like a sculpture. I am in hopes this winter will not be as long as last winter. 🙂

  7. i like that

  8. Graceful is a good word for how that tree strikes me, too. And so grounded.

  9. No, it doesn’t matter in the least. After -22, when it hit 22 today I thought it was warm. How weird is that?

Beautiful capture of the cold and endurance, Bo.
