A Dash of Red

Still Driving Around in the Cold

...and a Tree

Still taking a lot of my photos on half day drives through the countryside. I liked the way the bit of a shadow in the right lower corner seemed to mimic the lines of the tree.  Got warmer today though, and much of the snow cover is disappearing fast.

Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. 1. Nice photos. Very crisp and clear. Good luck.

  2. Love the reds, wood textures, and all those long vertical lines.

  3. Reminds me of sunny winter scenes seen from the backseat window as we drove to my grandmother’s house for a Sunday afternoon.

Snow and red barns; two of my favorite subjects. Not that it matters, but do you get out of your car to photograph the barns or are you a “drive by shooter?” However you do it, nice work!

  5. Lovely perspective shot. Old red barns from any angle is a favorite of mine. 🙂

  6. Love the texture and shadow and detail. I see what you mean about the shadow in the lower corner. Perfect!!!

  7. nice shapes

  8. I like the sun and the shadows. I think the reason so many barns are painted red is because i makes them look so warm in winter!

  9. Sun and snow and a red barn. I think the setup exists in many places. But you are using your eyes and doing a good job. Perfect! Thanks.

  10. Perfectly framed! Bravo!

  11. To answer Sue’s question–though I do take a few drive-bys , if I really, really want a photo, I try to stop. And since I’ve recently been limiting myself to using my 50 mm, I find I almost always have to get out of the car if I want the shot. With no zoom to help me compose my photos, I have to actually move myself!

  12. Very nice, Bo. I like the way you framed this. 🙂

  13. great shot. I love the shadows, too.

  14. Ya just gotta love them old faded barns…this is pretty with the colors…i’m a barn lover…
