Bus Stop Bench

Bench in Winter © 2007

Oh, the weather outside is frightful
A snow plow would be delightful.
But the white is sure pretty, so . . .
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

We love snow in Wisconsin. But if we could dig out just enough to sit on the bench before we board the bus, it would be nice.

Madison, Wisconsin – 25.5 inches of snow in December and counting. More to come 3 out of the next 5 days.

BTW. The city is out of money for plowing and sanding the streets for the rest of the year. Hope it doesn’t snow on December 24th.

Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. 1. Wow. Look at that snow! I hope the city comes up with some money. That looks like it would be tough to get around in.

  2. Wow – you have a lot of snow! If you get tired of it, please send a little our way, as I am in need of more snow pictures 🙂

    I love your bench pictures!

  3. Ummm, I’ll quit grumbling about my small ice storm this past week. Looks like you guys have bigger problems on your hands.

  4. You’ve got to admit though, it makes a pretty photograph. At least I’m more in the mood for snow blowing than for leaf raking. (Although we don’t rake…:-)) But I’d share if they’d let me.

  5. That is a beautiful winter scene.

Yikes!!! That is a lot of snow. I have a bad feeling about this winter. It’s been so cccold and we’ve had a couple of ice storms. I think we are in for a bumpy ride.

  6. ‘Tis lovely…but I am not sure that I could survive there. I am freezing here today, and it is only in the 50’s!
If I lived a life before this..I think it was that of a nomad wandering in the deserts.
Thank you for sharing your world with me though.
    Namaste’

  7. Very cool photo (no pun intended) Barbara. With that much snow I now know why I haven’t heard from my friends in Madison in a while. 😉

    R(etc…)

  8. A white Christmas and all the children are happy.

  9. I don’t mind snow, but ICE? No thanks.
