This particular clematis is growing on my mailbox. At least, it had its beginning at the base of my mailbox. We have had such remarkable growing weather, the clematis has grown so tall that its tendrils have grasped the maple tree that hovers above it, and is now climbing, ever upward, along the branch of the maple.

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. 1. Love the rich colors in the clematis. *sigh* We left a beautiful one in Paducah when we moved down here. So far we have only had time to get grass growing in our lawn. Can’t wait to start a few flowers…

  2. I love the colors and the details. Wonderful, Bo. 🙂

It’s been an amazing growing season this year, hasn’t it?

  3. Lovely clematis photo. The flower is lovely, too. So jealous that it is in the maple tree! I have never been able to grow them–not in Connecticut, not in D.C. The family joke is that I can’t grow anything that begins with C –carrots, clematis, cabbage, columbine. But I fooled nature with coreopsis, and now, after all these years, calla lilies and cactus.

  4. Very pretty color on that one! We have a clematis, but it’s a long, long ways from blooming.

  5. Beautiful capture with lovely clematis colors!

  6. I hope the clematis doesn’t turn into “The Clematis That Ate NY.” If it does, your maple tree may be in danger. 🙂

  7. So that’s what those are called. You’ve taught me something new today. Haha. Such a pretty rich color!
