Daffodil Fringe

Daffodil Macro,Spring Flower in Madison Wisconsin Garden

Daffodil Macro © 2011 Bo Mackison

I had some fun in the garden taking a few macro photographs of the daffodils yesterday.

Today I spent the morning at the hospital while Sherpa had arthroscopic knee surgery. Now we are back home, and Sherpa has a fixed-up knee. He told me five minutes ago he was feeling fine. No, he didn’t think he was going to sleep, he wasn’t tired, he was going to study some work papers he’d carried to the hospital and home again, unread.

Now he is sound asleep in the recliner, snoring loudly. I heard the work papers drop on the carpet a bit ago. Looks like I’ll have a few hours before I have to resume any nursing duties. So–shall I read the book I’ve been trying to finish for the last two weeks, or shall I go check my art show applications that are still dangling without answers?

Work first, then play. I’ll check on the outstanding applications, then I’ll read for an hour.

And it looks as if the sun may be trying to brighten the skies, if not exactly break through the cloud cover–crossing fingers–so there may be hope for a late afternoon photo session in the spring bulb garden, gently lit with dappled sunshine.

  1. Ohhhhh, nature is wearing beautiful petticoats! I love that Sherpa wants to work, but the anesthetic won’t let him. We are not nearly in control of our bodies as we’d like to think! May he be sherpa-ing on that knee soon!

Love the petticoat idea! Sherpa is doing quite well. He’s anxious to get back to Sherpa-ing, but it will be a while yet.

  2. Hey, I wasn’t sleeping. I was just resting my eyes. 🙂

    I appreciate the nursing.

  3. That is a fringe! Wonderful color! Still looking forward to ours blooming.

  4. Macro and daffies, watch out. It can be addictive. I recently did a trio of them similar to yours. I love your fringe idea and the subtle shadow.
