Fairies At Work

Baja Fairy Duster

Fairy Duster © 2010 Bo Mackison

Do you believe in fairies? Do fairies grant wishes? Are fairies magical?

This sweet flower is called the Fairy Duster, just the bit of accoutrement that a fairy might need.

I think I might be in need of a fairy or a fairy godmother, or maybe just some magic fairy dust. Hmmm…wonder where I can find such things.

Photographed in early October at Tohono Chul Park in Tucson, Arizona. As noted on their website, Tohono Chul is “a desert corner garden where nature, art and culture connect.”

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. 1. I do believe. I’d also like one to visit my office and assist in a bit of clean up. 🙂

Sorry, don’t think these fairies do office work. Now if you had a photo studio that needed some straightening….

  2. Goodness that’s pretty. Reminds me of our mimosa tree and blossoms only our blossoms are a softer, more subtle pink.

It really is one of the most delightful blossoms I have ever seen! I’ll have to look up Mimosa, don;t recall if I’ve seen that flower or not. Thanks, Sue.

  3. What a gorgeous photo! I’ve not seen that plant, but I can’t imagine seeing it any prettier than that!

  4. Bummer about the office work. Would have been nice. 🙂

  5. I totally believe in faeries. Their magic is so closely linked with nature. What a magical picture. Thank you so much for sharing.
