About Bo Mackison

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. Please subscribe to receive my five part mini email course The Gifts of the Desert. It's my gift to you.

  1. Today was definitely a rural mailbox day for me. This is one fantastic shot. Love this.

  2. I know the feeling, and love the shot!

  3. Great eye! Love the color of rust against the autumn backdrop.

  4. That sucker is battered and beaten, but it still keeps working. Perhaps this is a metaphor for everyone that gets up each day and slogs through it. 🙂

  5. Oh…this is wonderful!

  6. Eye catching, for sure. Neat capture. 🙂

  7. Great shot. My brother-in-law finally replaced his with one fabricated out of 3/16ths inch stainless steel. The shovels, rocks, etc. bounce off now.

  8. lol!! There’s a lot of that around here. What a great way to capture it.

  9. haha, interesting shot, funny description

  10. I’m catching up on your photos, Bo. Love love love this one. Also, there is something about it, parts of it so crisp and detailed, others slightly fuzzy, that make me especially fond of it. This one and the captured leaf in the grains of wheat? or grass?

Good title on this one. Definitely wouldn’t want to be fodder for bored teens and everyone else. 8)

  11. Poor mailbox. Poor you. Ouch!

  12. what a funny, colorful photo.

I kinda want this one, too.

  13. Nice perspective, Bo! Love the angle of this one!

  14. This poor thing looks so forgotten. Wouldn’t you love to know its story?
