Idaho Aspens in Targhee National Forest

Idaho Aspens © 2010 Bo Mackison

We headed west when we left Yellowstone National Park and entered Targhee National Forest. Most of the aspen were wearing their autumn colors, bright golden leaves flickering in the breezes. It was cloudy much of the morning as we traveled through Idaho, but that seemed to highlight the intensity of the many golds.

Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. Your beautiful photo reminded me of some paintings I’d seen recently by an artist named Inam. If you’re interested, his website is at http://www.inamgallery.com/

  5. I keep dropping in for quick visits to your site, but somehow get pulled away before I get to leave a comment. So…I AM putting everything else aside long enough to let you know I LOVE THE ASPEN image. And, I’m a little envious. I’ve only seen photos and never had the opportunity to see them in “real life.”

  6. The aspen are lovely this time of year.
