About Bo Mackison

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. Please subscribe to receive my five part mini email course The Gifts of the Desert. It's my gift to you.

  1. Wow, this looks like the illustration in some magical book. Gorgeous. Love those sky islands!

I love to try and imagine the movements of those mountains upward, how they came to be. It’s such an interesting geological region. And yes, I am in love with those sky islands, too!

  2. It’s the most magical and beautiful of landscapes. Love the layers of light..of color. WOW!

  3. I want to step right into this scene and live there for a while. I’m sure there is magic in your photo, Bo.

It’s wilderness in there, Robin. Black bears, cougars. Not sure I’d want to live there, but it’s sure lovely to look at.

  4. Beautiful rustic earth textures against the splendid cloudscape sky!

    • Bo Mackison says

I’ve had only a few days where there were many clouds–love it when I can take advantage of those special times! Thanks, Anna.

  5. What a fantastic scene. I love it.

    • Bo Mackison says

Like a fairy tale scene, yes? Where the prince comes riding out of the mountains and falls in love with the princess in distress?

  6. You captured the essence of that scene beautifully, Bo!
