Pike’s Place Market – From Garden to You

Pike's Place Market in Seattle Washington

Fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish — all abound at the market at Pike’s Place, located just off the waterfront in Seattle, Washington. The Market opened in 1907 and is one of the oldest continually operated public farmers’ markets in the United States. Not only is it a place of business for many small farmers, it has many merchants, craftspeople and artisans displaying their crafts.

(I ended up buying a jar of handmade caramel sauce, gently flavored with tequila. Indulging in two of my favorites — caramel and tequila. However, I don’t think I’ve ever combined the two in one taste treat before. It was yummy!)

Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. 1. It’s good to see that! I used to shop there when I was going to school in Seattle in the early 60’s.

  2. Real nice, now I’m hungry. 🙂 It looks like a fascinating place to visit. If I lived out that way, I’d be a regular.

  3. Wow! What a great market!

Is this where they throw around the fish?

Yep, that’s the place where they throw the fish. Also the place where customers drop the fish they’ve just purchased and then watch their dinner slide under another counter space. Fun place, for sure!

  4. Much to explore, I expect. 🙂

  5. Heaven – sheer heaven!!!!!
