Skylights Highlights

Capitol Skylights © 2007

I played with this photo to try and get a shot reminiscent of the old postcards in the 1940s and early 50s, and the technique worked pretty well as far as meeting that goal. I don’t know if it’s too much though.

About Bo Mackison

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. 1. Well, I think it worked very well! Gives me the feel of an enchanted window..to the other side.

  2. I think it is great and very much looks like an old postcard! Bravo!

  3. I think the overall effect is really nice but I’d love to see you try to tone down the light shining through the windows just a bit. I think if you could recoup a little of the detail in that area it would make a good shot really great.
