Osteospermum hybrid.

A fun sort of flower, this little purple blossom with spoon-like appendages.

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. 1. Very interesting petals on this flower. I love the visual feel of this pix. The flower feels like it’s floating up to see the viewer. Very, very fascinating.

What did you do to this one? I really like how it came out.

  3. Unusual petals… like flowering spoons. I haven’t seen a flower like this. Nice! 🙂

  4. gandalf – it is floating a bit, isn’t it?

Chris – softened the whole thing.

Anna – I’d never seen it before either, saw it in a garden center. I think it must be a newer hybred.
