Autumn Memories

With 10 inches of snow on the ground, I chose to fore-go white today and instead added a little autumn color one last time.

After all, it is still fall for another 2 weeks. I want to know, though. When winter officially begins, is that when the REAL winter pulls out all her punches?

  1. Very nice idea looking in one of these things for such an interesting design. And then put a whole one right next to it. Also cool and better than just the one (half) for some reason.

  2. I like the way you composed this, too. Makes it much more interesting.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday — that it’s still officially autumn. You wouldn’t know it from looking outside.

  3. Yeah, it’s a very intriguing picture. What is that exactly? Some sort of squash, I assume, but it’s not familiar.

  4. Thanks for the notes about the composition. Sometimes it just works out.
Amuirin: I have no clue. If you want the honest truth, they are some cheap straw things I bought to fill a bowl for autumn. I know they’re fashioned after something real, but I sure don’t know what it might be!

  5. saturation of colors is luscious
