Taps at Moon Rise

Moonrise at Twilight © 2007

Day is done, gone the sun,
From the lake, from the hills, from the sky;
All is well, safely rest, God is nigh. ~ ‘Taps’

This late October’s full moon is known as the Hunter’s Moon. The moon rise reminded me of the lyrics from the well-known military song, ‘Taps’.

Taken at Indian Lake County Park in Dane County, Wisconsin on October 25, 2007. I photographed both the sunset and the moonrise

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you.
