About Bo Mackison

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. Please subscribe to receive my five part mini email course The Gifts of the Desert. It's my gift to you.

  1. I love the moody feel even though it’s shot in plenty of light. Nice conversion!

  2. Very moody indeed – gotta love the shadows. It amuses me that those two cacti (That’s the correct term?) seem to be floating in the shadow of the wall there. Very nice shot.

  3. Bo, your photos of the Tucson area have really made me miss the desert. This is a great shot of the barrel cactus and the Palo Verde set against that wall!

  4. Really wonderful in b&w. I love the layers of textures in this..the shapes and forms.

  5. Anna Surface says

Lovely in the lights and shadows with a certain starkness.

  6. Love the composition of this one, and the way it captures the exact feeling of the area. The contrast is exciting!

  7. Wonderful shadows
