Turquoise Building

La Placita Village

La Placita Village

The Visitor Center in downtown Tucson is housed in a group of buildings, all painted with bright colors.

Pinks, yellows, blues, and yes, this delicious turquoise color. I love the lines in this photograph, and the reflections in the windows that quite invite you to tell an imaginative story to explain what you might imagine.

About Bo Mackison

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. Please subscribe to receive my five part mini email course The Gifts of the Desert. It's my gift to you.

  1. Nice image Bo… I too like the lines and soft colors. What a beautiful place to be during a Midwestern winter. 🙂

  3. Colorful, to say the least! I don’t remember that visitor center, if it was there when I lived in Arizona. I sure do like the southwestern architecture though. Excellent photo!

  9. Hey, you know, I think we should all be able to paint our dwellings such awesome colors. Love this photo – it’s a bit of brightness with all the yucky gray back in the Midwest.
