About Bo Mackison

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. Please subscribe to receive my five part mini email course The Gifts of the Desert. It's my gift to you.

I laughed when I read this. I remember as a child that when the phone rang (remember the avocado colored ones that hung on the wall?)it was either a close friend, a relative or bad news. Never gave that piece of technology much thought.

These days I can never walk through the grocery store, walk the street or drive my car without seeing another doing the same with a cell phone held up to their ear.

Remember the time when we actually communicated with each other face-to-face, looking into each other’s eyes?

  2. Curious observation by rlovison on face-to-face communication. I work for a software company, and we have programmers who will e-mail or IM each other while they are in the same office. Alas I date myself. Interesting & amusing picture. I’m amazed you could find a pay phone. It might be one of the last in existence. 🙂

Surprising to see there still are pay phones and even more surprising to see that the instructions are in English!

  4. so glad that I have my cell phone, these all seem like scams!

  5. I haven’t seen a pay phone in years! How many of the old movies featured pay phones and phone boothes? LOL Neat photo! 🙂

  6. haha, awesome!
