White Curtains in Mineral Point Wisconsin

Nothing Square about this WIndow

Nothing Square about this Window © 2010 Bo Mackison

April 1. New month, new season.

Windows. I love how there is nothing quite square about this window. Back in the 1800s I suppose they didn’t have to use rulers and squares when they were building their stone buildings. Eying it was good enough, plus a few years of settling in. I like that.

I like its crookedness.

About Bo Mackison

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. Please subscribe to receive my five part mini email course The Gifts of the Desert. It's my gift to you.

  1. Ah, this photo peaks my curiosity. Makes me wonder who lives behind that window. I love it when a photo sparks my imagination.

  2. Love the simplicity..and I’m just dying to know what’s on the other side of that curtain!!!

Looks as if that window was jammed in between the stones. Love the stonework and the window is perfect as it is. 🙂

  4. I have tried, several times, to make repairs to a window such as this. Perhaps that explains why I’m not quite normal.

  5. If the eyes are the windows to the soul, what is the window to a building? I enjoyed the photo.
