Bowing to the Sun

go to site Remembering summer, long walks through the prairie, bathed in soft evening light from the slowly setting sun.

Mostly Cloudy

https://www.jacobysaustin.com/hours/ Still doing photos from last summer. How did I ever manage to get such a backlog? This photo is from a cloudy, windy August day in northeastern Wiscosnin’s Door County. I spent a long afternoon sitting on the beach watching the clouds drift over Strawberry Island. I remember thinking everyone else was in such a hurry to go see something, go do something. I was pretty satisfied doing what I was doing — thinking about “stuff” and watching the clouds drift by. Once in awhile I’d pick up my camera and take a couple of photos.

A Bit of Last Summer

https://www.52editions.com/congratulations/ I’ve been working on my photography portfolio and wading through thousands (yes, thousands) of images, deleting most and working on a few. This is one of the photos that caught my eye, I think because the leaves of the plant seem almost like a shadow.

Simply Winter, Still…

...Dressed in White

Memory is the best of all gardens. Therein, winter and summer, the seeds of their past lie dormant, ready to spring into instant bloom at any moment the mind wishes to bring them to life.    ~ Hal Boyle

Still Driving Around in the Cold

...and a Tree

Still taking a lot of my photos on half day drives through the countryside. I liked the way the bit of a shadow in the right lower corner seemed to mimic the lines of the tree.  Got warmer today though, and much of the snow cover is disappearing fast.
