follow This is south central Wisconsin. We are windy, foggy, snowy. Today relatives are arriving at my front door from New York City, San Francisco, and Chicago. Travel is iffy. Christmas is iffy. The presents are under the tree, the food is planned, the cookies are made, the beds are made, and the wine has been purchased for out 1st Annual Wine Tasting Christmas Eve Party.

A snow plow would be delightful.
But the white is sure pretty, so . . .
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
https://purestpotential.com/a1bjvem We love snow in Wisconsin. But if we could dig out just enough to sit on the bench before we board the bus, it would be nice.
source Madison, Wisconsin – 25.5 inches of snow in December and counting. More to come 3 out of the next 5 days.
https://www.yolascafe.com/fxsycae BTW. The city is out of money for plowing and sanding the streets for the rest of the year. Hope it doesn’t snow on December 24th.

watch There are 16 of these huge planters flanking the doors of the Wisconsin State Capitol Building, and the state fathers are most kind and budget money for lovely flowers to decorate our Capitol. In spring the planters are filled with tulips, in summer, pink petunias and in fall, lovely yellow chrysanthemums. But in winter, Mother Nature gets in the act and she fills the containers with lovely mounds of snow. (No charge!)

Snowfall in Madison, WI as of December 6th, 2007: 6 inches of snow followed by a one inch ice layer followed by another 6 inch snowfall. This makes for interesting walking. Either you sink into 6 inches of snow and slide on the ice, or you sink into 6 inches of snow, crack through the ice and lurch forward as you drop another 6 inches. This photograph was taken only 5 steps from my back porch. Maybe you can understand why I chose to go no further than 5 feet for a photo. On the positive side, I only fell once.
Ah, winter. I celebrate your return.
