Birds’ View of Madison

177. Looking Down

aerial Madison

Flying into Madison provides a great view of the city. The State Capitol is a bit right of center. The Capitol Building and Madison’e downtown is on an isthmus, only a couple of miles wide, and sandwiched between Lake Mendota (upper) and Lake Monona (lower). Living in the city, everything is quite near one lake or another, but I’m always surprised when I fly over Madison and see how much of the area is water vs. land.

Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you.
