Double Vision

Double Vision

Double Vision © 2011 Bo Mackison

I’m moving at a slower speed today, but I am taking in a good many things.
Seeing things not only once, seeing them over and over.
And concentrating on what I am seeing, feeling, doing.
Moving through the day mindfully, slowly.

Moving through the day in winter mode. All bundled up, and heading out into the storm.

One step at a time.

About Bo Mackison

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. Please subscribe to receive my five part mini email course The Gifts of the Desert. It's my gift to you.

  1. That’s the best way to handle winter and winter’s storms. One step at a time. It’s nice to have a day in which you can move slowly, mindfully, and with great awareness.

    Lovely capture, Bo.

  2. Angie Willis says:

Lovely photograph Bo and inspirational words. They fit well with my One Little Word for this year which is SLOW.

    • Bo Mackison says:

Oh, I like your word , Angie. Mine is “possibilities” and I think I’m not living up to expectations. Or it’s not living up to what I expected. Not sure… 🙂

  3. Very interesting photo. I am rather captivated by it.

    • Bo Mackison says:

I haven’t taken many photos this winter, Gandalf. It’s been a slow time for me. But I did enjoy hiking in this Chicago Forest Preserve–found a few interesting perspectives. Thanks!

  4. Sometimes it’s good to move a little take time to stop and listen and notice the smallest of details. Definitely winter!

    • Bo Mackison says:

Oh, yes! Definitely winter. Even more so in Wisconsin, and after our last days of snow. Looking forward to heading south for the end of winter!

  5. I really like this picture.

  6. Thank you for your ever mindful views on life, & beauty.
Love this “one step at a time out into the storm”.

    • Bo Mackison says:

Wendy, thank you. Seems like that one step at a time into the storm isn;t only in my photos these days, in my life too! :-0
