go to link By the time you’ve had a few drinks in this bar, you will certainly be seeing red. When you’ve had enough singing and swaying, find the white door and you can escape the revelry with a walk along the deck and watch the ocean’s furious waves crash into the ship.

go here On this day, The Piano Bar on the cruise ship Carnival Glory was unusually empty because of rough seas with 45 mph cross winds and 18 foot waves. No one was drinking that day. Almost everyone was either in bed if they were queasy, or in the Casino if they could stand.

follow site Colors abound on this tropical island, especially on the multi-pastel buildings. Even on this abandoned hotel, which lingers on Main Street overlooking high-end jewelry stores and perfumeries and, of course, the ubiquitous duty-free liquor stores.

Cat Burglars Not Welcome!

Owners in Belize City have devised an unusual way of protecting the entryways of their buildings from intruders. These metal detriments are seen on many structures, new and old.

I guess they must be fairly effective, and a lot cheaper than a wired security system.

Afraid of Spiders? Beware!

This is actually a scorpion, not an itsy-bitsy spider. I discovered (surprise!) this monstrous guy while exploring a cave deep in a rain forest in Belize. Once it was determined he was quite harmless (gulp! – sure he was!) I aimed my lens at the scorpion from 6 inches away. Alas I only had my zoom lens – wish I’d had my macro. Now that might have been a great photo.

This arachnoid-friendly cave is a Mayan archeological site. Scientists have found artifacts from the Mayan Empire dating from 1000 A.D., evidence the cave was used for ceremonial and religious purposes. (You really don’t want to know exactly what kind of ceremonies, do you?)
