Piano Keys

Red Piano Bar © 2008 Bo Mackison

By the time you’ve had a few drinks in this bar, you will certainly be seeing red. When you’ve had enough singing and swaying, find the white door and you can escape the revelry with a walk along the deck and watch the ocean’s furious waves crash into the ship.

On this day, The Piano Bar on the cruise ship Carnival Glory was unusually empty because of rough seas with 45 mph cross winds and 18 foot waves. No one was drinking that day. Almost everyone was either in bed if they were queasy, or in the Casino if they could stand.

But camera in hand, I was doing none of the above. I was photographing the numerous bars and taking macros of the fruit and other such stuff.

About Bo Mackison

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. Please subscribe to receive my five part mini email course The Gifts of the Desert. It's my gift to you.
