After tramping around the zoo for a couple of hours, I realized not only was the snack bar closed, I couldn’t even find a seat for a rest.

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. Lovely shot!
Sorry you didn’t get a seat though.
Nice B&W. I’d love to see a contrast with the same place in July.
LOL! Looks like plenty of seating, if you don’t mind a cold bottom.
Beautiful capture, Barbara. 🙂
Wow! That’s a lot of snow! How did the animals at the zoo deal with it? I never would think to go to the zoo when there is so much snow.
Aww, come on! There are plenty of places to sit! That turned out to be a great shot!
I can’t believe you were at the zoo in weather like that! You Wisconsins…
The black and white give it an eerie appearance.
I think I would have to complain if they couldn’t clean a seat off for me 🙂
Great shot Barb !
My Gosh! So many seats & tables! Must be nice to have a little picnic there during Spring/Summer eh?
Nicole ~ I may like winter, but not enough to plop down on a snow-eat. 🙂
gandalf ~ let’s go and check it out in July, bet it’s warmer, more crowded too.
robin ~ I DO mind a cold bottom, thanks though.
Laurie ~ these animals live outside in the real world too – the tropical beasts stay inside where it’s warm. 🙂 the zoo is great in winter – no crowds.
montucky ~ you can share a table with me
jules ~ please understand, if we didn’t go out in the cold, we’d be inside 7 months out of 12. 🙁
preston ~ I love trying b/w once in awhile. thanks.
bernie ~ by all means, complain. That is, if you can find anyone to complain to. I think the workers open the gates and leave until evening.
asther ~ yes, it IS nice in the warmer months. Really very lovely.
i’ll take you up on that as long as there’s beer somewhere in the area (inasmuch as it is in Milwaukee, there should be some).
I love the snow when it’s fresh like this, without the hand (or foot) of man to spoil it. I’ve a thing about park benches in photography. This one’s a good one.
