Another trip around the Capitol Square in Madison checking out the stalls at the Farmers’ Market.
Blanket-flowers (gaillardia) in a variety of colors – yellows, oranges, white and lavender. I picked up 8 of these annuals to fill in a space in my mostly perennial garden.
Even the onions are attractively displayed. I had to take a photo before I bought a bunch of green onions. A large population of Hmong farm and sell at the Dane County market, and the women vendors at this vegetable stall always have their produce arranged with an eye for an artistic presentation. Always a visit to satisfy many senses.
No flowers blooming yet, but the purple tags provided the color for this photograph, with lupine plants tucked in the background. More to plant – always.
Every Sunday is Green Thumb Sunday. Gardeners, Plant and Nature lovers participate each Sunday; visit Green Thumb Sunday for more information.
I love lupine…they’re so stately!!
My Green Thumb is shared…stop by if you have some time!! Happy Sunday.
Your photos are gorgeous. How did you get the blurred effect in the first one? The one flower that stands out gives it a definite 3-D effect. Happy GTS,
Aiyana
The flower is very nice.
Love that top photograph – the slight zoom effect and the lovely light on the coloured petals
All of these photos are gorgeous and, well, I’m at a loss for words. Beautiful, Bo. Just beautiful. 🙂
That blanket flower photo is striking!
Did you pick a bunch from the bottom of the pile? 🙂 Beautiful montage of the market.
I really love the first shot! The colors are so rich and thick… beautiful. All of them make me want to go! But the top one is gorgeous!
i like how the blanket flower looks kinda psychadelicky
the orange hue is radiant
I love your farner’s market. You have a lot of pictures form there. You should make a book.
