I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you. Please subscribe to receive my five part mini email course The Gifts of the Desert. It's my gift to you.

Nicely composed; perfect with the poem. That shimmering red is glorious!
These bright red leaves were right outside my door. Not any more, but they were a joy while they lasted.
Bokeh! Bokeh! Bokeh! (Not the sound of one hand clapping, but it should be.)
Sounds like a great cheer.
So lovely. Almost ethereal.
They do seem to just fade into the background, a bit of a disappearance act, rather like autumn disappears into winter.
Always a lovely thought process and image behind your posts! Thank you!
Thanks, Margaret. I try to give some thought to what I post. Doesn’t always work, but sometimes…:-)
Exquisite detail…and I love the quote!
Yes, I love that quote, too.
Simple, beautiful image. I love it.
Shooting the simple things–really my favorite subjects.
I like the color combination in this, and the form is intriguing. It reminds me somewhat of the wild clematis in shape, like a bird flying.
Love the idea of a winged bird. Wonderful!
Beautiful composition. I agree with montucky…reminds me of a bird flying. Love the quote.
The very best photographers take the things that we’ve all seen many times and make them new. That’s what you’ve done with this photo. How many red leaves have I walked past and never really seen? You’ve allowed the personality of these leaves to come through.
What a lovely comment. Thank you.
I do try to photograph the simpler things, hoping others will see the photographs, and their world, more closely.
Very lovely.
A phoenix in flight was the first thing I thought of. Quite lovely, I absolutely love the color of these leaves. Beautifully captured. It always amazes me the things you find to photograph.
