The beginning of a new month! When I turn the calendar to a new month, I know it’s time to look for a photograph for Photo-Heart Connection from the last month’s photos. I look for one that speaks to me in a special way.
Here is my choice from the many photos I took in September. I took it on the last day of September, on an early Sunday morning when Autumn’s sunlight cast a spell on me. I stopped at this set of prayer benches situated high on a hill overlooking the city I call home.
It was a quiet morning.
A quiet time in a quiet place and I was grateful to spend some time resting on one of these benches.
I felt a deep connection with place, a sense of renewal, a new strength. I acknowledged that I am at a crossroads, and that simple acknowledgement gave me an inner peace for which I had been searching.

This photo is my choice for this month’s Photo Heart Connection.
I can feel the quiet in your lovely photo, Bo. It’s almost as if I’m standing there, in that golden light. Such a beautiful time of year. Thanks for sharing the moment with us.
The early morning golden light seemed to highlight the quiet and sacred space. Thank you.
Love this idea of prayer benches, a gentle reminder for us to sit and reflect, hope you have a wonderful autumn!
Thanks, bookbabie. It’s a lovely place to sit, and think big thoughts…
Wow, I would have been so moved by these prayer benches, what a lovely idea. I can see the peacefulness, and feel the breeze and I feel invited to sit down . . . such a wonderful connection, and I love that quote!
Yes, up on the hill top, it’s a wonderful setting. Thanks for your comment.
a very contemplative spot… wonderful! a true invitation to rest and reflect. beautifully captured
Contemplative is the perfect word to describe this special place. Thanks.
I too was quite touched by the benches and grandness of the trees around you. Thank you for sharing.
You are very welcome.
I can so relate to being at this peaceful crossroad. I can see why this image – in particular – spoke to your heart!
When we stand at a threshold, some times the best we can do is first sit and consider the possibilities. 🙂
This looks like a wonderful place to contemplate, so warm and inviting.
Not quite so warm now, windy up on the hill, but still inviting.
I love how I can feel and sense the quiet in this photo.
Wishing you all the best,
Mary (from September Photo-Heart Connection)
Thanks, Mary.
Love the colour and tones in your image against that beautiful blue sky. Fabulous quote too.
Thanks. And it’s one of my current favorite quotes. 🙂
I love the quotation and the peaceful image with perfect autumn lighting. How amazing to see church benches – inviting us to quiet contemplation!
Greetings, Sandra
They are used for meditation or prayer benches and similar to a popular and simple bench designed by Aldo Leopold – a well known environmentalist from Wisconsin.
I love those seats, I like to take place and look at the sky and nature and relax, lovely post
It’s a favorite lace of mine, but soon it will be covered with snow… 🙁
A beautiful light and a beautiful spot to just sit, catch your breath, and think!
Love any place that encourages me to think! Yes!
Such wonderful benches. The benches and the scene itself look so peaceful and relaxed.
It’s a place I think you would love, Robin. Peaceful, but with an amazing view.
A prayer bench. What a lovely, simple thing. Beautiful photo, Bo.
Nice, hmm? Oh, yes!
Fantastic photo and wonderful photo-heart connection
Thanks, Zena.
What a wonderful, wonderful place. I can feel the sunlight on my skin as I imagine sitting on those benches. Your words share with me that feeling of peace and acceptance for where you are. Thank you so much for sharing in the Photo-Heart Connection this month!
