Autumn is fast approaching. Last week, Wisconsin had temperatures hovering in the low 90s. This week the thermometer is registering in the low 60s.
Suddenly I’ve discovered I don’t have to rush out of the house in the early mornings and late evenings to see what newest flowers are blooming in the many nearby gardens. The autumn flowers are blooming, even the purple asters which usually don’t bloom until October.
So this seems like an appropriate photo for the season. Yellows, rusts, browns – the palette of autumn. Sunflower photographed at Allen Centennial Gardens in Madison, Wisconsin.
I love the colors in this! Very attractive image! We are having similar weather at the moment. The past few nights have been in the 30’s too.
Definitely autumn colors, for sure…snows will be flying your way soon.
abstract sunflower=stunning!
I had some in perfect focus, and some toss aways in my fifty shots, but this one waving in the stiff breeze was my favorite.
I love the feel of this image.
I’d love to know exactly what you think the feel of this photo is, Gandalf. Does it make YOU feel a certain way? Or does it evoke a certain feeling that you take away with you? Or another kind of feel?
This is a wonderful representation of Autumn. I love the abstract quality of it as well as the colors and the softness. Autumn is my favorite time of year. I think if you had to put all of Autumn into one picture, this one would be it for me.
I love autumn too. Lots of great photo ops too. So fun!
It’s certainly is feeling like fall. Love your flower. Very abstract looking. Reminds me of flames.
It is very abstract. I’m working it up as a large canvas – can hardly wait til I print it out.
Beautiful flower in the way it is portrayed and definitely is just right for the changing of the seasons. I bet this will look great on a large canvas. 🙂
