Welcome to Florida

Palm © 2008 Bo Mackison

While I’ve been posting snowy photos the last week, I’ve been traveling in Florida, and then on the Carnival Glory cruise ship to Belize, Mexico and the Bahamas. Fun, though sad to say (for me) the weather in the Caribbean was reminiscent of a November in Wisconsin.

So here is my first taste of Florida when the temperatures were still in the 80s and the sun was shining.

Blackpoint Wildlife Drive near Cape Canaveral. Palm trees are a big treat for me, but these will be old hat to anyone who sees these lovely trees year round.

I'm a photographer, book-artist, traveler, naturalist, and creator of the Contemplative Creatives Journey, An Online Workshop and Community and Desert Wisdom Cards and Workshops. Though often not well known, I find the desert a welcoming place - a healing space. Its mysteries and gifts transformed me several years ago. Since that first encounter, I return again and again to fill my well in what most people think of as a desolate region. I'd love to share my desert discoveries and wisdom with you.
