A tribute to the winter solstice, with heartfelt joy that each day will now start a bit sooner, last a bit longer.
Sunrise at the Grand Canyon:
The wonder of it, the wonder of the sunrise. Each morning, one of the grandest shows on earth, available for your viewing pleasure. Weather permitting.
spectacular. Happy Winter Solstice.
And to you, too, Wendy. Love that the sun will be visiting a bit longer now.
I love this sequence too Bo, perhaps even more than the evening ones. Wonderful to see!
Something is special about the newness of the sunrise — an entire new day unfolds in front of us.
Gasp! I cannot wait to see a sunrise over the Grand Canyon!!! Wow, Bo, WOW. These photos are stellar!
The Grand Canyon does make a great vantage point. Off season, highly recommended. Thanks.
Can’t think of a better way to celebrate the shortest days. Such stunningly beautiful sunrises and sunsets of the canyon.
Yep, if the day is short, concentrating on the light parts makes it SEEM longer.
Beautiful sequence, particularly how you captured the sun’s gradual illumination of the landscape.
I did love seeing how the sun hit the bits of rock–like an orchestra.

Whoa, that is incredible. One of the many wonders of the world at sunrise. Watching the sun come up through my dorm room window is not quite such a wonderful marvel but this is quite awesome. Great photo sequence.
