Been searching for an ID on this flowering cluster of dark purple bells, but no luck so far. Seen at the urban Allen Centennial Gardens at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
This is the photographer’s view, flat on back on cold stone garden path. I think that adds to the photo, on a personal note, at least. Brings back such interesting memories of me trying to right myself after spending a half hour on the ground. Good thing I have a monopod that can double as a walking stick!
Oh how I can relate to the “memories of me trying to right myself after spending a half hour on the ground.” In my case…NOT a pretty sight!
Your efforts paid off, however. The unique view of the blossom is exquisite.
The best views can be looking up, particularly if you can reach it as well! Congratulations on the photograph and the thought–they are both brilliant.
I perused through my Wisconsin wildflower book, but couldn’t come up with an ID. Sort of looks like “Fireweed” that hasn’t fully bloomed? But whatever it is, it’s a great photo. Wonderful perspective.
Very interesting in the dark purple bells flowers. I haven’t a clue what these are. Lovely though. 🙂
Great photo. Obviously, these are purple flowers. Job done & happy to have helped. 🙂
Another flower I don’t recall ever seeing before. It’s delightful to see these photographs – exposing us to something new. Got to love the purple, though. I know I do.
