The desert is a place of bones, where the innards are turned out, to desiccate into dust.

https://geolatinas.org/utg5vu2ow The ocean is a place of skin, rich outer membranes hiding thick juicy insides, laden with the soup of being.

watch Inside out and outside in. These are worlds of things that implode or explode, and the only catalyst that determines the direction of eco-movement is the balance of water.

https://danivoiceovers.com/z4zc8wtuzq Both worlds are deceptive, dangerous. Both, seething with hidden life.
The only veil that stands between perception of what is underneath the desolate surface is your courage.

Lots of splashing, calling, sun-worshiping. But at 7:30 in the morning, there aren’t too many people wandering around. It’s one of the best times of the day, my way of thinking.

Sand Dunes in Blue

enter After leaving Santa Fe, we spent a couple of days camping at the Great Sand Dunes National Park in southern Colorado. I wanted to photograph the dunes at sunrise. The temperatures had dropped into the teens in the early morning hours and iced the sculptured sand, making the trek up the dunes rather easy. It’s much easier to climb frozen dunes than to sink with every step into soft sand.

enter What creature do you think passed this way? On the sandy beach tucked in front of the Whitefish Dunes on the shores of Lake Michigan. Only the shadows, only the tracks.

It is suggested that the tracks are those of a Great Blue Heron, one who seems to be dragging his feet a little in the soft sand.
